Deerbrook Covenant Church - Hearts on Fire...Hands at Work

Adult Programs

As adults, we demonstrate our commitment to God and each other in many ways.

Small groups are a good way to connect, learn and socialize.  Each small group comprised of individuals or couples who study God's word, socialize and serve together.  Each group is unique.  There are groups of men, women, couples, individuals, etc.  Curriculum is usually determined by the group members.  We are confident you will be able to find a group that fits your interests and personality.

Group Bible studies and special events for women are held at various times during the year.

Men are invited to participate in Men's Fraternity, a DVD based study designed to help men deal with real-life situations.

Prayer is an important part of our worship and the Braveheart Prayer Team actively leads in praying for individual and corporate needs.

Coldwater is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing and meals to families in the Lee's Summit area.  We help prepare a meal and distribute food and clothing on the fourth Saturday of each month.

Advocates for Victims of Abuse (AVA) is an opportunity to raise awareness of this problem in our society.

Micah Ministries is a program that provides meals to homeless individuals in Kansas City.  We help serve meals on a monthly basis.

Wheels to Freedom is an ongoing project that involves the collection of used wheelchairs.  The wheelchairs are delivered to Hope Haven, a non-profit organization that refurbishes them and gives them to disabled people in third-world countries.  An annual music fest, car wash & kids carnival highlights this project.

The annual Wheels to Freedom free car wash & carnival was held on September 10, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

During this event, we wash cars, serve hot dogs, popcorn & drinks, provide inflatable games for kids, provide live music - all free to everyone who stops by.  We also collect wheelchairs and walkers.  We also collect wheelchairs all year long.  Click here to go to the Wheels to Freedom website for more information, including how to donate a wheelchair.
